ACAA Membership

Membership in the ACAA is open to government, industry and non-government organizations with a stake in air quality within the ACAA boundaries. Membership applications are approved by the Board of Directors and membership fees are assessed using reported air pollutant emissions for each organization.

Membership application form

ACAA Members are:

  • Welcome to attend monthly Board meetings to observe ACAA business
  • Eligible for nomination to the Board of Directors
  • Invited to participate on working groups (such as the outreach and education standing committee, the monitring network task group), as desired

ACAA Members will:

  • Ensure duplication of efforts are minimized between your organization and ACAA
  • Develop synergies to reach common air quality objectives and goals
  • Have a voice as an air quality stakeholder in the Capital area

 

Benefits of Membership

A Committed Partnership with Albert Environment:

  • Active Alberta Environment participation and representation on the airshed Board of Directors
  • Grants and contracts to implement the Capital Airshed Partnership Ozone Management Plan

Participation in the development and implementation of air quality management plan recommendations:

  • ACAA Members have participated in developing the Capital Airhsed Partnership Ozone Management Plan. All recommendations were subsequently accepted by Alberta Environment for implementation.
  • Implementation of the Capital Airshed Partnership ozone management plan began with a regional monitoring network assessment, a temporary exploratory measurement campaign, and education programs.

Participation in the development and implementation of an air quality measurement plan:

  • Reduces unnecessary monitoring duplication
  • Gives improved overall regional monitoring coverage
  • Ensures monitoring of appropriate parameters
  • Is best suited to address the needs of the airshed and its stakeholders

Committed representation from the key stakeholders:

  • Support industrial emitters, non-government organizations, public, local government, and Alberta Environment
  • Dedicated forum for stakeholder concerns
  • Sectoral representation on all sub-committees and working groups
